Another GOOD One.....

Where we stand in our lives is not sometimes, but ALWAYS, a product of the choices we made to get ourselves there.........

Whew, read that one again. Think about it, I mean really really THINK about it. It is so simple, yet so true.

Consequences are a scary thing. Truly scary. The life we lead today, is the consequences of the life we chose to lead yesterday. And the lives we lead tomorrow, will be the consequences of the decisions we make today!

Chew on that for a while, will you? me

Just Watchin' Some TV

We got to keep Hunter man Wednesday night while the kids went to see a movie! I absolutely love getting to babysit him for a few hours. We can devote the entire time to playing with him & just spending quality time with him. He is still defiantly just "Pee paws" boy. But Nana loves him anyway- ha! Here he was just chillin out, sitting on Boogie & watching TV. I love that both are dogs are so patient & loving with our favorite little boy in the world. If they weren't - we wouldn't have them! By the way - the kids find out today if the new baby is a boy or a girl! I can't wait to find out! me

A New Week

So another weekend has came & gone...in a flash, just like usual. But I do have some fun left hanging over from my weekend. See, my nieces Kayla & Kara are spending a few days with us & I LOVE IT! It is so much fun to have two teenage girls around! They are so sweet & silly & I just can't wait to get home to them in the afternoons!
David & I went to a friend's birthday party out in Winslow Saturday night. We took the dogs out to their "farm", and they had a shrimp boil. I am going to have to remember this come duck season. They built a big outside fire & us girls put shrimp, sausages, corn on the cob, potatoes & some seasoning in a huge pot of water. Then David carried it out & put on on the fire. We all visited & sat around drinking beer & watching the kids ride around on the four wheelers & in about an hour it was done. They had tee posts set up & mesh wire tied to the tee posts, & they just poured everything from the pot onto the wire & everyone helped themselves. It was really cool.
Sunday David had to work, but my mom dropped off the girls & Eddy & Dez brought Hunter up & they spent the day with us. All in all it was a great weekend.

It looks like this weekend we'll be heading to Stuttgart. See, Ms. Boogie is in heat, and David has gotten in touch with Jimbo from RNT (Rich N Tone Duck Calls), and the plan is to take her down there to her new "boyfriend" Tank, and see if maybe, just maybe, they will get together & she'll have puppies. I know that few people realize this, but it is a VERY VERY big deal. Tank is an AMAZING duck dog. He's a celebrity too & has his own TV show. And, if it works, these will be the first puppies for Boogie and for Tank. So, we'll have to wait & see, but keep your fingers crossed. And, of course another reason we're going down is to check on Big David. He has to have a double bypass in a couple weeks, so we need to get down there & make sure he's doing ok.
Well, once again, I've gotta get to work.....me

Some Little "Reminders"

I have a document saved on my work computer that I copy scripture, sayings etc. on when I come across something that touches me in some way. On bad days, or "off" days, I can just click on it, read through them, and find something that makes me feel better. Today I had to do that. Then I thought - hey - I need to post these on my blog. Here they are, in no particular order:

1. "GOD IS IN CHARGE OF THIS MESS!"

2. "I have learned how to be content with whatever I have." Philippians 4:11

3. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1st Peter 5:7

4. "Sometimes parenting means not intervening. It's learning to love by letting go, allowing your own heart to break in order to allow your children to live their own story. And then waiting to hold them when they need a safe place in which to fall."

5. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3: 5 & 6

6. "Things which are impossible with man are possible with God." Luke 18:27

7. "Rejoice with those who rejoice..." Romans 12:15 (NIV)

8. "God is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine." Ephesians 3:20

9. "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalms 37:4

10. "Timing is critical, the first five minutes after you see each other at the end of the workday sets the mood for the entire evening."

I am always on the lookout for others to add to my list at work but that's all I've got for now. Til next time.....me

They Make My Heart HAPPY!

We got to keep Hunter last Saturday night while the kids had a "date night". This Nana made an ice-box pie for her two favorite boys....and Hunter-man LOVED it. He has suddenly became a "Pee-paws" boy & would rather be with David than me! David says it's just because he is a boy, but I'm not sure. I kinda like his pee-paw too! me

Brittni's Night Out..........

So some of you may remember that my one & only daughter was supposed to get married last Saturday night. And if you read my blog you know that said daughter called off the wedding, and that we, her parents, were very proud that she was able to make the decision she did, even though it wasn't easy.

Well, although she knows in her heart she made the right decision, she has been a little down lately. She has a lot of things going on in her life right now, a lot of changes, and a lot of grown up decisions she has to make.

So this mama, was quite relieved to receive a text from her with this picture, and to hear that on her wedding night instead of sitting at home alone, her friends were taking her out on the town for a night of fun & relaxation! Way to go PUDGE!!! We love you!

4th of July Re-Cap

Sometimes the most intimidating thing about blogging is how far behind I sometimes get. Once again life has been crazy busy. The fourth of July weekend was so jam packed full of stuff I didn't have a minute to stop & write about it. I have pictures to post from most of it...but when will I find the time to download them to the computer & post them? I start posts in my head all the time. And I do mean ALL THE TIME. But with David on days now, I don't have that extra 1/2 hour in the morning to catch things up like I used to. That being said, he's been working 12 hour days, sometimes more. But since we get up no later than 5 a.m. & I've been going in at 7 & staying til 5:30...well, I'm just too tired to blog when I get home. But there are a few things I want to write down, just so I remember them. If I get a chance to add pictures later on, then I will. If not, so be it!
The Rodney Carrington concert was a blast! We had a scare that he might not get off work in time to go, but he did. Our friend Terri & her cousin Shawna met us at the AMP and it was awesome! On the way out David grabbed my hand and said, "hey, I really needed that!" We laughed so much. Then we headed to Jose's in Springdale with Terri & Shawna & closed the place down. Saturday night we had friends over for a fish fry. It was fun (but a LOT of work). Then Sunday night me & David went to my Aunt Bev's to watch the fireworks. They were AWESOME! David has never been & had no idea that they shoot off a huge display & that it goes on for almost an hour & a half! Jeff brought Thomas & Grace, Eddy, Des, Britt & Hunter man were there too, along with my dad & step mom, my mom, sister, nieces - well almost my whole family! Even Trevor - David's "step" nephew got to come. David is already planning next year and instead of grilling hot dogs he's talking brisket! That night Jeff, the kids & Trevor all spent the night, so of course the next morning I fixed a big breakfast for a houseful!!!
Monday, the actual 4th of July, we grilled, the kids all played in the pool, and we shot off fireworks & watched fireworks going off all around us for hours! All in all it was an awesome weekend spent with family & friends. It was everything I hoped for & more....til next time...me
